Press Conference

On April 4th, 2019, No More Warehousing, in partnership with the Disability Rights Coalition of Nova Scotia and People First Nova Scotia, held a press conference in the provincial legislature.

We asked the government take action to end the institutionalisation of people with disabilities in nursing homes, psychiatric hospitals, and regional rehabilitation centres, asking instead for the implementation of co-housing units or small options homes within the community.

The press conference was hosted by NDP critic for Community Services, Susan Leblanc. Presentations were made by Jen Powley (No More Warehousing), Barb Horner (Disability Rights Coalition), Jeanie Whidden (People First Nova Scotia), Donna Lee (People First Nova Scotia), and Donnie McLean (People First Nova Scotia).
